Bam Basics
101 – an introduction to American Mahjong covering tiles, setup, block modeling and hand modeling and open hand play.
102 - a follow-up session focused on building walls, the Charleston, card strategy, building hands, and live play practice
Private Instruction
Perfect for those who want a more personal learning experience—no strangers, just you and your friends. Our private sessions are designed to move at your pace, helping you gain confidence in the fundamentals while enjoying guided play.
1-4 People: One class is $50 per person
5-12 People: One class is $40 per person. Max is 12 people.
Open Instruction
If you’d rather mix, mingle, and learn with others, our open instruction sessions are the place to be. You’ll learn in a relaxed group setting where questions, laughter, and “aha!” moments are all part of the fun.

Game Time:
Guided Play
Perfect for those who’ve learned the basics but still want a little support as they build confidence at the table. During Guided Play, an instructor will be on hand to help with strategy, answer questions, and provide gentle reminders as you play real hands. It’s a relaxed, encouraging environment that bridges the gap between learning and full-on independent play.
One session is $35 per person at a public venue
One session is $40 per person at a private home
Open Play
Ready to just play? Open Play is all about gathering, mixing, and matching with other Mahjong lovers. No formal instruction—just tiles clicking, laughter flowing, and a few friendly “Mahj!” calls along the way. It’s ideal for players who already know the rules and want to enjoy the social side of the game.
One session is $20 per person
